The resort comprises of four hotels. However, since this article would focus more on a family vacation trip, I would highly recommend the Sun City Cabanas. The Sun City Cabanas are situated at the farther side of the resort having lush gardens that extends to the lake and is also within close distance to where activities such as water sports are held. It is more of a relaxing accommodation as compared to the other three accommodations available in the resorts making it the ideal choice of accommodations for vacationers traveling with  their families. There are three hundred and eighty rooms located in two-storey units with either standard or family suites that can cater up to four persons. The Cabanas also has a swimming pool that has a shallow pool within it where children could enjoy their meals from two of the restaurants nearby. The Cabanas has features such as, air-conditioning, telephone lines, radio and wake up facility on TV, colored Satellite TVs with remote controls, en-suite comfort rooms, twin or double beds, tea and coffee making machines in each room, hairdryers, internet facilities and a pay-per-view movie channel. The rooms offered are of these choices: thirty-two lake facing family Cabanas, two-hundred and one standard family cabanas, twenty-four lake facing standard cabanas and one-hundred and twenty standard cabanas.

Sun City has a bunch of activity choices for you to enjoy with your family. There are activities that require great enthusiasm and there are some that would make you relax, breath and enjoy the serenity. The Valley of the Waves is the most advanced Water Park in South Africa that provides hours of enjoyment of fun under the sun. The Roaring Lagoon is the heart of the establishment where, during ninety seconds at a time, a one meter wave would clash towards the white sandy beach. Surrounding the lagoon would be a river that is open for tube-rides and for adrenaline junkies, there are also five ultra-exciting water rides to pick from such as the Temple of Courage. The guests of  Sun City have free access to this portion of the area during their stay in the premises. It is open daily from nine in the morning until six in the evening during summers and at ten in the morning until five in the afternoon during winter. There are also snacks, ice creams, drinks and many more finger foods that one can purchase from the bar near the waters.

Since Sun City is situated by the beach and by the river, there are also tons of water sports activities to choose from. Waterskiing and parasailing are some of these activities that may be enjoyed at the Waterworld area. The adults, for a more relaxing and laid-back activity, could just enjoy cruising by the waters on a sunset cruise. Squash, horse riding, tennis, mountain biking and  jogging could also be enjoyed here as you swerve by the serene views of the safari.

What would a top-notch resort be without a casino? That’s right. The Sun City Resort also has its own Casino named Harlequin’s Casino situated at the Sun City Hotel. Here, you could play games of chances, bet at black jack or wish upon slot machines. There are also bars where you can help yourselves for some cocktail drinks or order a hearty meal from the restaurants such as sushi, grills or even fine-dining dishes.

Being in Africa means being in a hot area, right? Now what would a hot area with lush greens and fine landscapes supposed to have? You guessed it right… A golf course! Here at Sun City. the golf courses, also known as two of the best in the continent, were designed by the famous Gary Player. While playing, you find that the courses are quite intriguing as they would really put your golf skills to the test. The Lot City Golf Course is one of the golf area courses available in Sun City. It has whopping views of the bushveld and has exciting water features where, at the thirteenth hole, thirty-eight crocodiles await! You better make that shot count! The other course called the Gary Player Country Club is home to the yearly Nedbank Golf Challenge. Given that, the courses in this area are both challenging and difficult for both beginners and professionals. The course also has its own pro-shop for you to buy golf necessities, putting green and a health spa that are open for guests throughout the week.

Whether you want to have a lazy afternoon while sulking up the sun or wish to party during the night, Sun City is the place for you! Here, the night life is both lively and jam-packed with guests.

Other than that, there are also snack bars, coffee shops, souvenir shops and entertainment centers for you to bring out the shopping spirit! The shopping area caters to items such as leather goods, jewellery, shoes, clothing, wine and Sun City souvenirs.

What would a family vacation be without fun activities for the kids right? Children aged from two to twelve years old are all invited to participate with the Kamp Kwena kiddies programs. The program holds exciting activities for the little ones such as riding the choo-choo steam train, touring the animal world, maneuvering bumper cars and playing at the children’s arcade. For the visitors who would just love to appreciate the African Safari’s beauty, you may also just roam around the area and appreciate the fine views of landscaped gardens, visit the Cascades Aviary where hundred of birds call it home, the Birds of Prey Center, the Crocodile Sanctuary where you can get up close and personal with one of the fiercest creature in the planet and be amazed with the smell of wonderful flowers at the Botanical Gardens. There is also a Cultural Village nearby where kids can explore and learn the history of eight African tribes. For the couples who would just like to relax the day away while the kids are out to play, there is also a hair and beauty salon available within the resort and get yourselves pampered up.

The Wind Chimes Chapel is the landmark of the resort that also garnered the resort recognition of being the perfect place to get hitched! There are beautiful wind chimes surrounding the chapel where you will hear it clinging as you say the words “I do”.

The ever so popular Sun City Extravaganza is performed by the staff daily for the live entertainment of guests. Its Super Bowl is likewise available for guests to witness live concerts and shows.

The Pilanesberg National Park located just by the resort is one of the best features that this area has to offer. It is the largest National Park in South Africa and is malaria-free. Meaning, it would be safe to tour the kids here while enjoying the views of the Safari. The park is about fifty-five thousand hectares where plains, different species of animals such as lions, elephants, giraffes roam around and an extinct volcanic crater.
