Alicante (also spelled Alicant) is the biggest city in Spain’s Costa Blanca region.  It is among the most gorgeous places you could ever travel to.  The entire region is beautiful and definitely worth the time to explore.

Alicante is located between Valencia and Murcia.  It has some of Spain’s finest beaches, with Campello, Muchavista and San Juan being the finest gems that offer clean, beautiful sand and sea that appeals to surfers, couples and families.  It offer days where the waves are high on account of strong winds as well as calm and peaceful days as well.

The area offers many popular attractions, including Mundomar (Benidorm), Terra Mitica (Benidorm), Terra Natura (Benidorm) and  Castillo de Santa Barbara in the city of Alicante.  The area is also known for its incredible beauty, such as Busot village and the surrounding mountains located near Campello.  Busot offers the popular Canelobre  Caves along with stunning scenery in a tranquil setting.  It does take some investigating to find your way to these spots.  However, it is definitely worth your time, as you will be able to enjoy breath-taking trails that over look surrounding villages and the Campello.  The best news is, you will most likely have this view to enjoy all to yourself.

In order to get to see all of this, you will need to make arrangements for an Alicante car hire.  You can do this at the airport or from a local city or town.  Starting prices for small cars are €10 a day.  During the busy times of year it is essential to reserve your car in advance before visiting the area.

It will be hard for you to find another place like Alicante that offers this many and diverse things to do, places of interests and activities to enjoy.  You could visit the Sierra Nevadas in the morning to go snowboarding.  Then in the afternoon you could soak up the sun, sand and sea on one of the spacious, gorgeous beaches.  If that isn’t enough, there are also ferries that can take you from Alicante harbour to Tabarca Island, Ibiza and Majorca.  You will never run out of options of things to do or see.

Alicante real estate property is another one of the main reasons why visitors come to Alicante.  The entire Costa Blanca region is very popular among expats who emigrate or invest in the area.  Over the years property prices have increased rapidly due to the introduction of the Euro and also demand.  However, if you are willing to move slightly inland or away from the more popular places like Javea and Benidorm, there are some real bargains to be found, especially compared to the property market in the UK.  Legal and tax-wise it is more expensive to buy property in Spain.  However, it can still be a worthwhile investment as long as the Pound is stronger than the Euro.

There is a variety of hotels that are available to choose from in Alicante.  If you do research ahead of time, you will be able to find a hotel that meets your specifications and budget.    During the high seasons, be sure to book your room early to ensure that you get a room on the beach.

Finding a cheap flight into Alicante is very easy due to the fact that Alicante airport is a very popular international destination.  It is also continuously expanding by adding new airlines operating from the airport.
